Green Beginner Classes
Q. Does my child need experience? A. Not at all! Many of our dancers start without ever taking a dance class. Q. What age can they start? A. Most students start between 5-10 years old but we welcome a range of ages. Q. What time can they take class? A. Our Purcellville Green classes are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 |
Blue and Gold Classes
Q. When will my child move up? A. Dancers move up to harder classes once they have shown they have masters their basic steps and display self disipline and focus. Q. Do all Irish Dancers compete in competitions? A. No! At Misneach Irish dance, we love to see our students grown and gain confidence, which sometimes leads them to compete. But many dancers enjoy coming and learning each week in class without the competition component. |
Adult Classes
Q. Do I need experience to start Irish Dance as an adult? A. Not at all! Many of our dancers start without ever taking a dance class. There are some who may have danced as children, but we welcome anyone into our community who wants to learn! Q. What do I need to start taking class? A. All you need to start is comfortable clothing and a water bottle. Our adult dancers learn both soft shoe and hard shoe dancing. So eventully you should get a pair of both. |
Tir na nOg Classes
Q. Do you offer a toddler dance class? A. We take dancers as young as 2 years old in our Tir na nOg class. Its best for children between 2-5 who are not ready for the Green class. Q. How long is the class? A. Our Tir na nOg class is a 30-minute class. Q. What will my children learn in a toddler dance class? A. Our Tir na nOg dancers learn coordination, balance, and rhythm with fun games and energetic Celtic music. Little dancers will begin to learn how to point their toes, turn out their feet, and balance with their hands by their side. Parents are welcome to observe or participate. |
